If you want to give someone permission to access your academic or financial record, or to pick-up documents on your behalf, you can grant them third-party authorization.
Learn more about third-party authorization.
– You may enter up to three authorized third parties.
– Authorized third parties can contact UBC for your information but cannot act on your behalf (e.g. order transcripts, request refunds).
– You must complete every field in the third-party authorization form. You can choose which permissions to grant to your third party
How to add or change third-party authorizations
Go to your personal information in Workday
- Log into your Workday account at myworkday.ubc.ca.
- Click your user icon in the top right corner, then click the “View Profile” button.

- In your profile, click the “Personal” menu item under “Summary”. Do not select “Personal” in the left sidebar.

- Click the “Additional Data” tab in the top menu.
Add or update your third-party authorizations
- Scroll down to find the “Third Party Authorization” section.
- Click the “Edit” button.
- Read the instructions and terms of use for third-party authorizations.
- Fill out all fields in this section. You do not have to grant your third-party all permissions, but you do need to input a response in each field.
- The “Authorization code” is a code you create and share with your third-party contact so UBC can verify their identity. This can be a word, a number, or any combination of letters, numbers or symbols.
- Click the “OK” button to save your third-party authorization information.
